I had a great Mother's Day, although I can't wait until Theo is old enough to start bringing me breakfast-in-bed, instead of waking me up at 6.30am and demanding I make his breakfast!
I baked a cake since all the women in my family were getting together for afternoon tea. It was my first layer cake (surprisingly!) and the first time I've really used rolled fondant to cover a cake - it's harder than it looks!
Rainbow cake! I had no idea if it would work, until we cut out the first slice but it came out very well! Everyone assumed it was a plain vanilla cake, so it was a really good surprise.
