Census

It's census time, so I thought I'd fill out a census meme!

In March 2011, I... am 27, single and living in a (semi-detached) house in the middle of the countryside in the North East, with my 3 year old. I'm a stay-at-home-mum but looking for work (unsuccessfully!). I spend most of my days spelling out words, cleaning up letters, cooking, baking and singing - it's pretty simple, but we're pretty happy. I guess I must be pretty normal since there's no outrageous answers to put on my census form.

In March 2001, I... was 17 and living by myself in a cute one-bedroom maisonette just outside of the city of Newcastle. I was probably single, having just broken up with my first boyfriend. I spent most of my days sleeping, although I was supposed to be studying for A levels in English language, Literature, Law and German. I spent most of my nights talking online and making a friendship that changed my life so much for the better. I think I put "wicca" as my religion on the census form.

In March 1991, I... was 7 and living in the Midlands with my mother, (first) step-father and two brothers. These were tough times for us, but things would change completely the following year (if the census had been in 1992, we could have put "caravan" as residence on the census form!). I spent my days at school and all my spare time reading in increasingly bizarre places (such as the wardrobe). One of the few things I can remember about being 7 is that my favourite books were The Mutineers of the Bounty, The Swiss Family Robinson and A Tale of Two Cities.
